Khairy Says He Doesn't Know How But He Still Wants To Become Prime Minister One Day
He may be down, but KJ is most definitely not out of the game.
Khairy Jamaluddin, who was sacked by UMNO on Friday night, 27 January, shared this morning, 30 January, that he still hopes to achieve his dream of leading the country as a prime minister one day
Khairy, whom the political pundits have described as the future leader of Malaysia, may be down but is most definitely not out of the game.
Not only was KJ — as he is fondly called — sacked by his own party last week over his attempts to unsuccessfully wrestle the post of UMNO president, but voters in Sungai Buloh had also rejected him in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Speaking with BFM on The Breakfast Grille today, Khairy admitted that he is not sure how his aspirations to become the prime minister of Malaysia will be fulfilled but he also understands the nature of politics.
"Not a linear path"
According to Khairy, he wants to make sure that the decisions he makes over the next few months to reshape the trajectory of his political life are based on a vision of Malaysia that he's comfortable with.
"I would like to have the privilege one day of leading the country, I'm not quite sure how that's going to happen now. But I do understand that politics is not a linear path," he told Shazana Mokhtar of The Breakfast Grille while explaining that in politics one has to go down before they can emerge as a leader.
"There are multiple troughs that one has to go down before they can emerge as a leader not just of their party but of the country. So, yes, I do still want to lead this country one day. How I get there, I don't know."
