Siti Yuana said her daughter, who was the eldest of four siblings, was always hardworking, determined, and independent
Besides studying and working part-time to earn additional allowance, Asniza had also just completed training and was commissioned as a reserve officer under the Malaysian Armed Forces.
"I often told her to be strong when she shared her problems and complained about how busy she was.
"That is the strength that brought me here today to attend her ceremony," said the heartbroken mother at the university campus on Sunday, as quoted by Harian Metro.

"But who are we to defy fate? Allah loves her more. I accept it and am proud to have a responsible, caring, and resilient daughter," said the mother, who was seen tearfully accepting Asniza's scroll with her husband.
"Even though she is no longer with us, our family is so proud of her achievements and we will always cherish her memories," she added.
