The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is conducting an internal investigation into a police officer who allegedly made obscene gestures at a woman during a protest in Kuala Lumpur

According to Bernama, the incident occurred on Friday, 13 December.

The woman claimed on Instagram that the police officer made lewd gestures at her while taking photographs during a human rights protest in the capital.

"While photographing the protest, a police officer, in uniform and on duty, made led gestures directed to me, which I caught on my camera," the freelance photographer wrote in her post.

"The gesture was repeated a few times, to make sure I saw him. I was standing alone at the stairs of the pedestrian overpass, so it was definitely directed towards me. The officer next to him witnessed this and just laughed," she added.
