The programme intends to help those from lower-income groups get the mental health treatment they require.
The Selangor government has announced that it will be subsidising the first two weeks of psychiatric treatment for residents of the state under the Selangor Mental Sihat (SEHAT) programme
In a Facebook post, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the Selangor government will bear the cost of screening, psychiatric consultation, basic psychotherapy treatment, and medication.
He said RM222,600 has been allocated for the programme, which offers 700 subsidised slots to help those from lower-income groups get the mental health treatment they require.

Selangor residents who wish to apply have to complete an initial screening through the Selangkah app, under the Mental Sehat option
"Based on eligibility from early screenings, an applicant can then choose to undergo a second screening at a preferred SelCare Clinic," said public health, unity, women empowerment, and family committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud via The Star.
"Qualified applicants will [then] be referred to psychiatric experts to undergo further intervention."
