Technician Dies After Being Stung By Swarm Of Hornets While Working At Kulim Telecom Tower

The victim died due to severe anaphylactic shock caused by the hornet stings.

A technician died after being stung by a swarm of hornets while working at a telecommunications tower in Kulim, Kedah

According to Harian Metro, the incident took place at Felda Gunung Bongsu, Karangan on Wednesday, 26 July.

A swam of hornets attacked the 30-year-old victim, Mohamad Hafizuddin Husim, at 1.30pm while he was working at the 30m-tall tower.

It is understood that Hafizuddin's friend recorded him while he was in a weak state at the telecommunications tower. The video later went viral on social media, reported Kosmo!

The victim was initially rushed to Karangan Health Clinic for treatment, said Kulim district police chief SUPT Mohd Redzuan Salleh.

He was later transferred to Kulim Hospital after the doctor realised the severity of his condition.

"The victim was confirmed dead at 12.10 midnight last night (27 July)," said the district police chief

According to Mohd Redzuan, the autopsy found that the victim died due to severe anaphylactic shock caused by the hornet stings, reported Astro Awani.

He said the case was classified as sudden death and the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial at Derga, Alor Setar.
