The First Batch Of COVID-19 Vaccine Has Now Arrived In Malaysia

Today, 21 February, Malaysia received its first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine after the batch arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) Advanced Cargo Centre (ACC)

The Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine has been developed by United States pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German firm BioNTech. They were flown in using an Airbus 330-300 from Singapore's Changi Airport following its initial departure from Puurs, Belgium after transiting at Leipzig Halle Airport, Germany.
According to New Straits Times, the vaccine distribution will be handled by DHL Express, which is the appointed agent for global distribution of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.
Several ministers were present during the vaccine's arrival
There was Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who is also the coordinating minister for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme.
Accompanying Khairy were Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, and Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
