According to Malay Mail, the motorist and the security guard started arguing after she chided him for parking at a taxi spot.

The incident reportedly took place at 1.30pm at Seberang Jaya Hospital in Prai, Penang on 5 August.

In the 30-second-long video, the motorist could be seen shouting at the female security guard before he got into his car

The suspect reversed his car on the spur of the moment, hitting the 43-year-old guard before speeding off.

Two other security guards immediately tried to chase after the Proton Saga during which one of them even kicked the car as the motorist kept on driving.

A bystander who was at the scene recorded the incident on his mobile.

The security guard suffered a bruised left leg. She has since filed a police report.

According to Seberang Prai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab Hamid, the female security guard alerted the motorist to move his car after he had parked at a designated parking bay for taxi drivers.

Azhan added that 20 minutes later, the suspect returned and parked at the same spot.

"The guard once again told him off and an argument ensued between them. The suspect also uttered harsh words to the security guard and he then hurriedly reversed his car and it hit the victim's leg," Azhan was saying as quoted by Malay Mail.

The suspect surrendered himself to the police later the same day

“The suspect has since surrendered himself at about 11pm last night, claiming to have parked the car at the taxi parking area because he was bringing his paralysed father to seek medical treatment at the hospital," said the police chief.

He added that police are currently investigating further under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 323 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.
