A woman recently went viral after hosting a Facebook Live session where she talked about how she was sent home with someone else's child after giving birth at a hospital in Shah Alam

The Facebook Live session took place around 7.40pm on 12 June and 23-year-old online entrepreneur Siti Suriani Wahiddin, through her business profile, Jamumall.com, garnered over 3.8 million views.

She wrote, "Ya Allah, just realised that the baby's tag has another mother's name after returning from the hospital."

The woman gave birth to a baby boy around 2.36am on Friday and was discharged from the hospital the next day.

She only realised that she had returned home with the wrong child after checking the hospital tag on the baby.

During the Facebook Live session, Siti Suriani showed viewers the baby's tag which states that it is the child of another woman named Dianah Hanani and that the child was born one day earlier than her own baby.

She added that while at the hospital, around 8.30am on the day she was discharged, she had requested to see the baby and the nurse brought the child to her.

She suspected that it was a different child as its facial features seemed different and it also felt lighter than the child she delivered, but she decided to shake off her doubts since her name was displayed on the baby's bed.

Upon realising that they had another person's baby and that they did not know where their own child was, Siti Suriani and her husband contacted the hospital and filed a police report

Siti Suriani told Harian Metro, "My heart sank when the hospital confirmed that my baby was swapped with someone else. But I was grateful that my child was cared for by a good couple."

"I went to the hospital for further tests. I hope the hospital will take responsibility and I will refer this case to a lawyer for further action," she added.

Meanwhile, Diana Hanani Abdullah said that she was disappointed by the incident and it caused her emotional distress.

She said that she gave birth to a baby boy on 10 June and was discharged from the hospital around 12pm on 11 June.

"I only knew that the children were swapped when the hospital contacted me last night. I was very surprised and asked my husband to search for the baby's hospital tag that was already thrown out in the trash can and found that it had Siti Suriani's name," Diana Hanani explained.

"We went straight to the hospital last night. The baby exchanging process took place with a lot of emotions because we already loved the child that we took care of as if it were our own."

Both of the couples have decided to take legal action against the hospital that was responsible for the swap.
