[VIDEO] Young Boy Defends Mum Running A Nasi Lemak Stall Against A Rowdy Customer
Many praised the son for standing up for his mother and called him a hero.
Last month, videos showing a Malaysian Indian woman running a nasi lemak stall in Seri Kembangan went viral, due to her big portions
What attracts the crowd to her stall are the options that customers have, depending on their spice tolerance. There are two types of sambal, large chicken and prawn sizes, and an array of lauk choices.
The woman, who is fondly referred to as Akka (sister in Tamil), runs her stall from 6am to 10am daily in front of Hong Leong Bank at Jalan PUJ 3/2, Taman Puncak Jalil, Putra Permai, 43300 Seri Kembangan.
Since going viral, Akka has seen customers willing to line up for hours — long before she even opens her stall — just to try her nasi lemak
One customer reached the spot at 4.30 in the morning and got to try the nasi lemak at 8.45am.
According to the customer, it's the longest he has ever waited in a line.
"Everyone who came was in high spirits, even under the heavy rain. Those who had umbrellas shared with those who didn't. Truly Malaysians," he said, adding that he was there to show support for her humble stall.
While the spotlight has brought in good business for Akka, she recently found herself caught in a conflict with one of her customers, where the customer yelled at her in public over a misunderstanding
The incident happened on Sunday, 28 April, when Akka, whose real name is Sangeetha, informed customers that her nasi lemak was sold out for the day, leaving only the side dishes as an option.
Upon hearing that the nasi lemak was sold out, some customers began making a scene.
One of the female customers started yelling at Akka when she was attending to another customer, who was in the front of the queue. The female customer mentioned a name and walked off.
This prompted Akka to then pick up her phone and speak to somebody about the interaction. Following which, the angry female customer came back and started shouting at her again, reported New Straits Times.
The angry customer had assumed that there was still nasi lemak in stock and that Akka was allegedly taking time to attend to her
Seeing this, Akka's young son began defending his mother.
He is seen telling the customer to watch her tone, while Akka tries to calm him down.
Video recordings of the encounter that were later uploaded on social media prompted many Malaysians to call out the rowdy behaviour of the angry customer for wanting to ruin Akka's business.
They also praised the son for standing up for his mother and called him a hero.
"That's how a son should act... always protect their mother at all cost. Good job kid! Big respect!" said one Twitter user, while another remarked, "The son is a true definition of a hero. The man!"

Meanwhile, on a happier note, Akka has finally managed to register her business with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM)
PKR's youth wing, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), vice chief Thiban Subramaniam said that he spend a whole day trying to settle the registration process with the help of friendly staff at SSM.
