The journey to the Olympics is incredibly demanding, both physically and financially

Athletes often dedicate their entire lives to training, which involves significant expenses for coaching, equipment, medical care, and travel for competitions.

To make their efforts worthwhile, many countries offer substantial monetary incentives to athletes who win medals at the Olympics. Of course, this excludes other incentives, such as cars, houses, and sponsorship deals.

While we don't know how much athletes could earn for winning gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, here's how much some countries have paid their gold-medallists in the past, ranked from lowest to highest paid
