Malaysia's Badminton Men's Doubles Pair Defeats Indonesia And Enters Semi-Finals

Malaysia's badminton doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik have defeated Indonesia's Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon in the quarter-finals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Chia and Soh won in straight sets 21-14, 21-17.

Their win today, 29 July, has guaranteed them a spot in the semi-finals. Should they win the next game, they will be guaranteed a silver medal.

Defeating their opponents in the final will secure the first Olympics gold medal for Malaysia.

Chia and Soh will be playing in the semi-finals at 2.30pm tomorrow, 30 July

While the men's doubles gold medal match will take place this Saturday, 31 July.

Prior to today's match, Chia and Soh defeated Canada's Jason Ho-Shue and Nyl Yakura with scores of 21-15 and 21-12, reported The Star.
