Malaysia's mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng & Lai Pei Jing have won the 2022 Korea Open badminton championships after beating South Korea's Ko Sung Hyun & Eom Hye Won in straight games 21-15, 21-18
The pair, placed number 10 in the world rankings, ended their five-year wait for a title. They showed incredible discipline by defeating the sixth-seeded South Koreans to win their maiden Super 500 title.
The pair had last tasted success at the 2017 Malaysia Masters
They are also the only Malaysians after Datuk Seri Lee Chong Wei to win the Korea Open title since the tournament's inception in 1991. The former national shuttler had won the title in 2010, 2012, and 2013.
