"Settled" — PM Ismail Resolves Issues Between BAM, Lee Zii Jia & Goh Jin Wei

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob held a meeting with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and national shuttlers Lee Zii Jia and Goh Jin Wei earlier today, 27 January

On the premier's Facebook page, he wrote that it was a beneficial discussion.

"Alhamdulillah, everything is settled. May our national shuttlers continue to excel on the world stage, and the Jalur Gemilang is hoisted again on the international arena," he added.

BAM president, Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria and his two deputies, Datuk V Subramaniam and Datuk Seri Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos, represented the association.

National women's ace Goh thanked BAM and its leadership as they have come to "an amicable solution to the issue"

"I will forever be grateful and thankful for all the support and nurturing from Tan Sri Norza, BAM, the coaches, and all support staffs since the first day I joined," she wrote on Facebook.

She also thanked Ismail Sabri as well as Youth and Sports minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu for "taking the time from their busy schedule" to assist in resolving the issue with BAM.

Based on her Facebook post, the two-time world junior champion got her wish to become a professional player

"And last but not least, I would like to thank all of you for your continuous support for me throughout my career and I hope for your continuing support for BAM and myself as I embark on my new journey as a professional player," she said.
