Microsoft will soon be introducing a new feature called 'Circle to Copilot'

'Circle to Copilot' allows users to look up more information about something by drawing a circle over the text or image.

This feature first appeared in the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 8 family of phones. Now, Microsoft is introducing its own version of this user-friendly functionality to the Edge browser.

Furthermore, in the desktop version of Microsoft Edge, 'Circle to Copilot' adds the item you've circled to the Copilot sidebar

After making a circle, you can ask questions. In response, you will receive detailed answers from a text-based generative AI chatbot.

While the feature is still in its beta testing phase, interested users may already access the feature on Microsoft Edge Canary, which is a version of the web browser where users can access latest features by the developers before mainstream release.

Here's how to enable 'Circle to Search' with Copilot in Microsoft Edge:

1. Make sure you're using the latest version of Microsoft Edge Canary

2. Right-click on its desktop shortcut and select 'Properties'

3. In the Target field, add the following:
--enablefeatures=msEdgeCircleToSearchDefaultEnabled,msEdgeCircleToSearchSupported

4. Click 'Apply' and then 'OK'

5. Open Edge, navigate to 'Settings', and select 'Appearance'

6. Enable the 'Mouse Gesture Setting'

7. Click on 'Configure Mouse Gesture'

8. Activate the 'Enable Circle to Copilot' setting
