The budget-friendly wireless earbuds still pack a punch in terms of audio.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE are changing what we know about wireless earbuds that fall under RM400

Priced at RM399, the Fan Edition Galaxy Buds are budget-friendly, while offering many of the same features as the pricier Galaxy Buds2 Pro.

Despite being more affordable, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE doesn't skimp on features, making them a strong contender for one of the most value-for-money earbuds of the year.

Having put the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE through extended use, we are now ready to share our thoughts.

Beyond that, these earbuds are rated IPX2 water resistant, meaning they can withstand minor water splashes or rain, but should not be submerged in water. So, remember to take them out of your pocket before doing your laundry.

Just like the design of the buds themselves, the charging case is similar to the others in the lineup — extremely compact and portable

We loved how easy it was to set up and pair the Galaxy Buds FE with a Samsung Galaxy phone, with the phone instantly recognising the earbuds and asking to pair them.

Although wireless charging for the case would have been the cherry on top, its absence is forgivable given the sound quality of the earbuds.

For the price, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE offer good audio quality with a balanced sound profile

We found that the Galaxy Buds FE produce clear highs, mids, and lows. The bass is not as deep or punchy as more expensive earbuds, but it is still overall very satisfying.

The Galaxy Buds FE also have good passive noise cancellation, which blocks out some ambient noise without the need for active noise cancellation (ANC). But once ANC is activated, any and all noise practically fades away.

On the other hand, Ambient mode uses the Galaxy Buds FE's three microphones to let you hear your surroundings. It turns out Ambient mode works well even while you have something playing in the background.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE and the Samsung Wear app work together seamlessly, providing you lots of customisation options

In the Samsung Wear app, you can find the equalizer settings. While there is not an option to manually make minute adjustments to the equalizer, there are still five presets that would fit your preference. Personally, we prefer the 'Dynamic' setting for a slight boost in the bass and the highs to compensate for the Buds FE's innate sound characteristics.

Beyond that, you can change the noise and touch controls, as well as initiate the Earbud fit test to make sure you're having the best audio experience.

Finally, there is the Find My Earbuds feature that makes the Buds emit a tone to make them easy to locate if you misplace them. We had to use this feature on occasion.

The battery on the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, with the charging case, can last up to 30 hours with ANC off

This means the Galaxy Buds FE have one of the longest running batteries in the market right now, and that's not even considering their affordable price point. The earbuds alone are rated to last nine hours with ANC off. In our experience, we used it for seven hours and the earbuds' battery went down to about 20%, so we would say that the battery life estimation is fairly accurate.

With ANC on, the Buds FE are said to last up to six hours instead. But to be perfectly honest, we haven't had to use ANC as much simply because of how well the passive noise cancelling has been performing.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE offer excellent sound quality, noise cancellation, and long battery life at a very competitive price

Again, with a price tag of just under RM400, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE are one of the best wireless earbuds you can get at that price point, and we can't recommend it enough.
