IKEA Malaysia has announced that its Swedish Restaurant at IKEA Cheras is temporarily closed starting 17 June 2026 for maintenance works

In a statement shared on social media, the company said the closure is necessary to ensure the restaurant continues to meet the high hygiene standards expected by both IKEA and Malaysian health authorities.

The company did not provide a reopening date, meaning the restaurant will remain closed until further notice.

IKEA thanked customers for their patience and understanding while the maintenance works are being carried out, adding that it looks forward to welcoming diners back once the restaurant is ready to reopen.

The good news is that not all food outlets within the store are affected

IKEA confirmed that its cafés and bistros, including those at IKEA Cheras, will continue operating as usual throughout the maintenance period. Customers can still stop by for light meals, snacks, coffee, hot dogs, ice cream, and other quick bites.

Those looking for the full Swedish restaurant experience can also visit the restaurants at IKEA Damansara, IKEA Tebrau, and IKEA Batu Kawan, which remain open.
