9 Reasons Why You Should Watch This New Animated Movie Adaptation Of ‘The Addams Family’
They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky...
The iconic first family of Halloween is back with an animated movie adaptation this 31 October 2019, and we are excited!
Check out what the Addams Family are up to in their first ever fully animated movie:
This time, 'The Addams Family' movie is delving into the origin stories of your favourite bizarre characters and how they ended up in an abandoned haunted asylum in New Jersey.
The film shows the Addams trying to adapt to modern life and fit in with their 21st century neighbours, without losing any of their spooky, kooky charm!
1. 'The Addams Family' have been around for decades and inspired an entire subculture
We all wished we were as sassy as Wednesday and looked as devilishly divine as Morticia. Speaking of Morticia, her relationship with Gomez is definitely #couplegoals.
2. They have been pop culture staples all over the world
From spoofs and satire, to cosplay, make-up tutorials, and merchandise, we can't get enough of this kooky family.
Side note: Wednesday's hair is braided as a noose in this movie omgomgomgomg.
3. "De de de dum (snap snap)" - their theme song is one of the most iconic and memorable songs ever
You're humming along to it already amirite? ;P
4. This film takes a page from the original Charles Addams comics created back in the 1930s
Unlike previous cartoons and movies, this latest version of 'The Addams Family' was inspired and largely based on the original comics that debuted in 1938. You know it's gonna be #legit.
5. It features an all-star cast including Charlize Theron and Oscar Isaac
But Theron and Isaac, who play Morticia and Gomez respectively, aren't the only Hollywood royalty in this film.
Wednesday is voiced by Chloe Grace Moretz, Bette Midler plays Grandmama, Nick Kroll is Uncle Fester, and 'Stranger Things' star Finn Wolfhard is Pugsley.
6. There'll be a special appearance by Cousin Itt, voiced by Snoop Dogg
What's not to love about the long haired, jibberish-speaking Cousin Itt? ;)
7. It brings out the things we all grew up loving about the Addams Family, while adding new storylines and crazy action stunts
Brace yourself for the eclectic and extreme stunts by chief troublemaker Pugsley. And of course, with animation there are no limits to what can be created!
8. Most of all, the movie celebrates being different in the cutest and funniest way
We're all weird and quirky in our own ways, and it's perfectly o-k-a-y!
9. The movie premiers on Halloween y'all!
What better way to enjoy the season of scares than with the creepiest, kookiest, mysterious, and spookiest family in the world. <3
