Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds has died just one day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher

The 84-year-old was taken to hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday, 28 December, from her son Todd Fisher's Beverly Hills house after an apparent stroke.

The pair were reportedly planning Fisher's funeral when Reynolds fell sick.

'She's with Carrie,' Todd told popular celeb site TMZ.

On the day of Carrie's passing, Reynolds posted a statement about her daughter's death on Facebook

Reynolds was married to Eddie Fisher, the singer and actor, from 1955 to 1959, and together they had two children - Carrie and Todd Fisher.

She was one of Hollywood's brightest stars during the 1950s and 60s, and is perhaps best known for her lead role in "Singing in the Rain" in 1952.
