Here's How Disney's New 'Aladdin' Movie Looks Like Compared To The Classic Cartoon
~ Arabian niiiiiiiights, like Arabian daaaaays...! ~
Disney is bringing Aladdin to a whole new world.
Come May next year, the much-loved tale of the Arabian street urchin and his magic lamp is coming to life on the big screen... and Disney has just dropped the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live action movie.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, the live-action Aladdin stars newcomer Mena Massoud as the titular character, Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as Princess Jasmine, and Will Smith as the iconic blue Genie.
Not much is revealed in the movie's first teaser, but the glimpse of Agrabah is giving us major starry eyes. See if you can spot Iago!
Here's what Agrabah looked like in the 1992 animated feature:
The Cave of Wonders doesn't look as intimidating as the one in the animated feature, but hold up... is that little silhouette holding a staff Jafar?! :D
TBH the one in the cartoon used to scare me when I was a child:
And of course, here's your first (and only) look of Mena Massoud as Aladdin himself
Much tease, and much more ominous than in the cartoon!
We don't know about y'all, but we can't wait to see the rest of it! Aladdin is slated to be released in Malaysia on 24 May 2019.
