YouTube personality-turned-pop star Troye Sivan has come a long way since he decided he was gonna pursue a musical career in his teens

This year alone, the pop idol has appeared as a guest performer on Taylor Swift's Reputation Tour as well as on the long-running variety show Saturday Night Live. He also recently graced the cover of Billboard magazine's first ever Pride issue, and is set to appear in a coming-of-age film (Boy Erased) alongside Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, and Joel Edgerton.

Having taken his first steps by performing in talent shows since 2006, the Australian singer has YouTube to thank for propelling him to mainstream attention and helping him amass his legion of fans. Following a wildly successful debut outing with 2015's Blue NeighbourhoodSivan is all geared up to conquer 2018 with his sophomore album Bloom.

So when Troye was in Singapore to promote his new album in July, we had the opportunity to have a chat with the singer about his new album... and a quick introduction to Malaysian food. :p
