Roald Dahl's 'Matilda The Musical' Is Making Its Debut In Malaysia This Year
"Even if you're little, you can do a lot."
Theatre fans in Malaysia are in for a treat as another world-renowned musical is making its way to Istana Budaya this year. From the presenters that brought us The Phantom of the Opera last year, comes its next project - Matilda The Musical!
Malaysia is the fourth leg of the original London West End musical's Asian Tour after stops in Singapore, China, and Bangkok.
Inspired by Roald Dahl's book of the same name, the musical was commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and played to sold-out audiences at the RSC's The Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon in England for 12 weeks from November 2010 to January 2011.
The UK's Sunday Times acclaimed 'standout musical of the decade' then transferred to the West End and swept the board at the 2012 Olivier Awards with a record-breaking seven awards.
Winner of over 85 international awards, including 16 for Best Musical, Matilda The Musical is now in its ninth year in London and has been seen by more than eight million people.
With an incredible cast of young performers, Matilda The Musical will be staged for a limited season only from 2 June 2020 onwards
