[VIDEO] What On Middle Earth Will Happen In The Hobbit's Finale?
Final 'Hobbit' trailer hints at an unlikely alliance between dwarves, elves and men, who are pitted against the savage forces of Sauron in an all-out battle to save Middle Earth.
As we draw closer to the dramatic conclusion of Peter Jackson's Middle Earth saga, Warner Bros has released a new and final trailer for the upcoming The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Picking up from last year's Desolation of Smaug, the fire drake Smaug has descended from Erebor in a fit of fury, with intentions to rain his fiery wrath on the defenceless people of Lake-town
High up the Lonely Mountain, the dwarves may have reclaimed their kingdom but their troubles are not over. As Thorin struggles to overcome the demons that has plagued his forefathers...
... The elves of Mirkwood and the people of Dale come a-knocking to reclaim what was promised to them in the past
Meanwhile, Gandalf had gotten himself captured after falling prey to a trap set by Sauron in Dol Guldur. Galadriel and Elrond seem to have come to his aid, although Gandalf does not seem to be in the pink of health.
Not everything is about fire, conflict and destruction, however. A short scene between Kili and Tauriel seem to be hinting at the potential of a forbidden romance between a dwarf of royal blood and a lowly Silvan elf. #allmyfeels
Come to think of it, Kili seems to be getting a lot of screen time in the trailer. Not that we're complaining, of course, it makes our hearts swell in pride to see him successfully united with this uncle and asserting his will to fight.
Most importantly, as the name suggests, there is going to be an all-out warfare laying siege to Erebor that - according to Peter Jackson - will last for 45 minutes.
Journey to Middle Earth #OneLastTime as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies marches into cinemas on 18 December 2014.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is directed by Peter Jackson and Sir Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett, Stephen Fry, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Aidan Turner, Dean O' Gorman, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug.
