A Malaysian student was accidentally left behind by his family while he was on his way to enrol into a university in Kuantan, Pahang

The blunder became a viral sensation after his elder brother, Khairul, shared a hilarious video on TikTok, leaving thousands of netizens amused.

"(We) were on the way to send our little brother for his registration at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Gambang.

"Suddenly, my mum stopped the car by the roadside, saying that our brother was unintentionally left behind at the rest and relaxation area (R&R)," Khairul wrote.

It is understood that his brother was left behind because he was using the toilet during the stop, and the family did not realise that he had not returned.

After the family left him, the student called them, helplessly asking, "Why did you leave me? I'm still at the R&R?"

It was only then that their mother realised her son was not in the vehicle. Khairul said if his brother had left his phone in the vehicle, they would not have known about his absence until they arrived at the university.

The student was fortunate enough to find a kind-hearted Samaritan heading in the same direction, who offered him a ride.

Twenty minutes later, the student was seen smiling as he stepped out of the kind-hearted stranger's vehicle to reunite with his family.

His mother could be seen approaching the vehicle to thank the driver for safely bringing her son back to her.

Speaking to SAYS, Khairul said they managed to arrive in time for his brother to enrol into the university.

"He felt embarrassed, but laughed at the situation because it was hilarious," the elder brother said when contacted.

At the time of writing, Khairul's video has attracted over 228,000 likes and 8,500 shares

Thousands of netizens left comments to jest about the incident, with one saying the mother should have enrolled in the university instead.
