Wow, These Malaysian Policemen Actually Danced For The Viral #RunningManChallenge!
Super cuuuuteee!
Remember the 'Harlem Shake' viral dancing trend from three years ago? Well, there's a new dancing meme that's blowing up a storm on social media called the Running Man Challenge!
Unaffiliated with a popular Korean game show with the same name, the Running Man Challenge simply involves filming yourself performing a dance (that somewhat resembles running) to Ghost Town DJ's 1996 hit "My Boo"
It all started four months ago when New Jersey high schoolers Kevin Vincent and Jeremiah Hall starting posting short videos of themselves dancing to the hip hop track on Instagram.
Only when University of Maryland basketball players Jared Nickens and Jaylen Brantley posted their rendition did the trend achieve meme status, spreading like wildfire among teens and pro sports athletes like the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Teens and pro athletes aside, the funky dance challenge has also spread like wildfire among the most unexpected group of people - police officers!
From Scotland to New Zealand and New York to Miami, police officers and recruits from all over the world have sportingly showed off their dancing chops and even nominated their fellow cops to take on the challenge!
So it's no surprise that our very own law enforcers joined in the dance revolution!
The video, which was posted by local English radio station Lite FM, was posted on its Facebook page on 17 May and has since been viewed more than 20,000 times.
It sure would be fun to see the other police departments in Malaysia follow suit! *hint hint*
