2 Besties From Perlis Are Embarking On A 5,000KM Road Trip To China In A Perodua Kancil

In what could be seen as either a test or testament to their friendship, two men have embarked on an epic 5,000km road trip from Perlis to the border of China in a Perodua Kancil
The two friends, Rushafizi Indrus and Nor Azman Musa, both aged 41, began their journey today, 20 December, from Wang Kelian, Perlis.
The village straddles the Malaysia-Thailand border, with the pair planning to travel across the land of smiles towards Laos, before driving on towards the fringe of China.
Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Rushafizi said the journey will take an estimated nine days.
"This road trip stemmed from an idea I had since 2015, as I once travelled to Laos riding a low-powered motorcycle," he said.
"So this time, my friend and I will try travelling there using a Kancil."
Rushafizi, through this journey, hopes to inspire youth across Malaysia to believe in themselves even if they're facing life's most difficult challenges
He also wants to prove that people from Perlis, where Rushafizi and Azman are from, have strong and tough souls that will enable them to overcome the challenges they might face during the trip.
It's only fitting that the two, who are from the smallest state in Malaysia, will be driving the smallest Malaysian-made car!
"We want to prove that even if someone used an old vehicle like this Perodua Kancil 660cc, it's still possible to reach somewhere as far as the border of China," he said, adding that the two buds have been preparing for the trip for the past few months.
When asked about the cost of the trip, Rushafizi, who works as a teacher, said he and Azman pooled their savings, in addition to being sponsored by several other parties.
"We hope that this journey goes smoothly, so that we can heighten both Perlis and Malaysia's standing on the international stage," he said.
