Well this in-flight safety video makes me want to get off my seat and start shaking my tail feathers.... But I don't think the dancing air stewardesses who told me to put my "whoo" in my chair will approve.
Virgin America has just launched the most unexpected safety video that turns air stewarding into a broadway audition. WATCH it here:
Virgin America is serious about getting people to listen to its in-flight safety announcements
Virgin America launched an airline safety video on Tuesday that it is billing as the first one entirely set to music. The result is quite catchy. "For the .001% of you who have never operated a seatbelt before: Really?!?" the flight attendant in the video asks.
Such irreverence not only suits the brand, but might actually get people to watch.
mashable.comVirgin officials say their new video, to be shown fleetwide by mid-November, is designed to get passengers who may be distracted or uninterested to pay attention to potentially life-saving information. "
usatoday.com"How many times have you been on a plane where nobody is watching the safety demonstration?'' says Steve Forte, Virgin America's chief operating officer. "People are sitting there reading the newspaper. When you look at this video, you'll see how it grabs people's attention.''
usatoday.comWe weren't joking when we say "broadway audition". You can actually audition to be a dancer in the next Virgin America in-flight safety video
What's so cool about this video? Look out for the robot rap, it could save your life in case of an emergency landing
And there is a possibility that you would want to adopt this little girl by the end of the music video
This Virgin America safety video was directed by Jon Chu who also directed the Step Up movies, and features 14 different dance styles
With appearances from "American Idol" semi-finalist Todrick Hall and former Olympians Tamara Campos (the nun) and Emilie Livingston (the teacher), the 5-minute video uses 14 dance styles to spell out all of those pre-flight instructions flight attendants give.
wtop.comUSA Today also has the details on the video, sharing that it was “directed by filmmaker Jon Chu, has among its dancing and singing cast several performers who’ve appeared on the show So You Think You Can Dance.”
