What happened?

In a nutshell, Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend were on an ANA flight that had to turn back to LA when a passenger ended up on a wrong flight.

The best parts of the story, however, are in Chrissy's elaborate series of live tweets that are just absolutely hilarious.

Mad props to her for keeping her sense of humour intact! Let's jump right in from the very beginning:

She named it a "flight to nowhere"

While managing to keep her sense of humour about the whole thing

But there were so many questions that needed answering

Which didn't stop even after the flight landed in LA

Still, Chrissy kept the Twitterati entertained

Shortly after, the airline apologised:

ANA issued a statement on Wednesday regarding the turn back.

"ANA wishes to restate its sincere apologies to the passengers on NH 175 that were impacted by the delayed flight from Los Angeles International (LAX) to Tokyo Narita (NRT) on December 26th. We failed to deliver the customer service we strive for and passengers expect from us," the statement reads.

"At the time during the flight, the pilot in command was presented with information about the discrepancy in the passenger manifest. Based on the available information in flight, he made the correct decision to return to LAX.

"ANA supports the decision of the pilot, out of the abundance of caution and safety for the passengers and crew onboard."

In between all this, John celebrated his birthday in the sky

And Chrissy achieved this rare feat ;)

Chrissy and John Legend boarded another flight and eventually reached Tokyo. This time for real.

Now that's one loooong haul flight!
