1 Utama Becomes First Shopping Mall In Malaysia To Launch Its Own E-Wallet
The e-Wallet is integrated into the existing ONECARD loyalty programme.
1 Utama Shopping Centre has jumped onto the e-Wallet bandwagon, making it the first mall in Malaysia to adopt a retail cashless system
The mall launched its digital 1PAY e-Wallet on Friday, 13 September, in tandem with its online shopping website ONESHOP.com.my.
In a statement, 1 Utama noted that its new e-Wallet and e-Commerce platforms are "in line with Bank Negara’s 10-year roadmap towards a cashless society" and hopes to become a driving force in efforts to "digitalise the retail mall landscape".
The 1PAY e-Wallet is integrated into the mall's existing ONECARD loyalty programme, and you can store up to RM1,500 in cash balance
The e-Wallet also includes options to link debit/credit cards/bank account, topping up, receiving and transferring cash to other E-wallet users, and e-Voucher rewards. Paying with 1PAY will also earn you instant ONECARD loyalty points.
Aside from 1 Utama, 1PAY can also be used at other Bandar Utama merchants such as One World Hotel, Centrepoint, and The Club.
To start using 1PAY, you are required to download 1 Utama's app to. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use the e-Wallet:
2. Log into your ONECARD account.
3. Top up your 1PAY e-Wallet.
4. Scan QR code to pay!
In addition, the app also includes features like a live navigation location map to guide you to stores and amenities, eONECARD account to keep track of purchases and UPoints, as well as a parking QR code system to locate your car easily within the carpark.
Future plans for 1PAY may see users getting to top up ONECARD parking credits with the e-Wallet and to pay parking fees electronically
