In a New Straits Times report, Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) stated that floods are to be expected at a large scale by mid-November due to the impending northeast monsoon. 

The monsoon will begin at the end of this month and last until mid-November. "Flash floods are highly likely in low-lying areas on the west coast of the Peninsular," said METMalaysia's director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah.

Therefore, it's best for us to prepare for the worst in case of emergencies and look at ways we can prevent or decrease damages when disaster hits.
