13 Essentials To Add To Your Mitigation & Survival Kit In Case Of Flood
In recent years, there has been an upsurge in flash floods resulting in the loss of people's lives, displacement from their homes, and property damages
In a New Straits Times report, Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) stated that floods are to be expected at a large scale by mid-November due to the impending northeast monsoon.
The monsoon will begin at the end of this month and last until mid-November. "Flash floods are highly likely in low-lying areas on the west coast of the Peninsular," said METMalaysia's director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah.
Therefore, it's best for us to prepare for the worst in case of emergencies and look at ways we can prevent or decrease damages when disaster hits.
1. Life jacket | RM22.90 - RM33.90
2. Anti-flood car bag | RM245.10 - RM315
3. Plastic bag for furniture coverage | RM10.59 - RM17.79
The last thing we want is for our furniture to get damaged, as cleaning costs can be super pricey. (If they can even be cleaned at all.)
Getting plastic covers for our furniture helps in preventing damages and allows us to focus on the cleaning the structures of the houses.
