The brand's creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere has unveiled the face of its Spring-Summer 2016 campaign and it's none other than Lightning, a character from the hugely successful video game franchise Final Fantasy.

The move comes as no surprise because Ghesquiere's spring collection for the brand is heavily influenced by manga and anime
Louis Vuitton’s Sping-Summer 2016 fashion show had numerous references to Virtual Reality, anime, sci-fi and Minecraft, and many of the designs were inspired by heroines from video games.

Believe it or not, this is actually not the first time Final Fantasy characters have been tapped for their gamer fashion. In 2012, Lightning and her fellow friends were cast for a Prada campaign.
Prada’s Spring 2012 runway show had a very sporty theme—the clothes and especially the shoes looked golf-inspired. As part of the “Final Fantasy” series’ 25th anniversary, a cast of characters, including Lightning, Noel and Snow, trade their usual outfits for Prada.
