If You're Struggling Financially, This Food Bank In PJ Can Help Provide Basic Necessities
You can also donate money or food to support the initiative.
If you're not getting a paycheck and are struggling to make ends meet during this time, there's a food bank in Petaling Jaya that is offering basic necessities for those in need
kEATchen is a food delivery service in Malaysia that focuses on supporting local gourmet street food operators.
The company also recently set up a food bank to help anyone who is currently facing a difficult time putting food on the table.
You can pick up food items such as rice, eggs, potatoes, sugar, milk, and cooking oil, along with sanitary pads and face masks from their office
"Food items will be placed at cabinet numbers 25, 24, 23, 22, and 21. Feel free to pick the items yourself... I am more than happy to help. No one has to know and I will pretend it never happened. What's understood never has to be explained," kEATchen's founder Ivan Chan explains in a Facebook post.
Since they started the project several days ago, he noted that many have shown up to collect items from the food bank and two truckloads worth of supplies ran out almost instantly.
To ensure tight standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to, the company has since limited collection hours to twice a day.
