We might miss partying it up with our friends and family, but physical distancing doesn't have to be a barrier

Virtual parties might be the best thing to consider if you want to throw a celebration while observing SOPs. Even though they are definitely a lil different than what we're used to, we're still doing our part to help flatten the curve while having a bit of fun :p

Heineken wants to remind you that everything is special when you celebrate it with the people who mean the most, even though we're living in some pretty difficult times <3

In partnership with Heineken, here are 5 ideas you could use for the ultimate virtual party:

1. Host a potluck and get your guests to send food to each other

Become the 'hostess with the mostest' and throw the best virtual bash ever... by keeping your guests' bellies full :D Send over their favourite meals or some finger food that they can snack on while your party is going on.

If you prefer some variety, try having a potluck, and get each guest to send another some food. That way, everyone gets to have a taste of something new.

2. Set the mood with an awesome playlist... and maybe even a dance-off (;

Show off your impressive music taste to your guests by creating a killer communal playlist that'll get everyone jamming out in no time. You could even decide on a playlist that fits the party theme and give them fun names like "Throwback To The 90's" or "Boujie Bash" - whatever floats your boat.

Better yet, you could even have a virtual dance party. Dancing releases endorphins, the happy hormone! So, go ahead and twerk your stress and worries away.

Pro-tip: Use Discord to play your music, and Zoom for video calling for the ultimate virtual party experience.

3. Host a fun activity while you dine

No party is complete without some fun and games, so get your friends and family to rack their brains for the right answers. If you decide to host Trivia Night, divide your guests into groups and different Discord rooms for them to discuss their winning replies. The losing team has to do a forfeit :p

You could also try playing online games suitable for groups like Kahoot!, Psych!, and many more.

You don't have to be confined to games if they're not your thing; there's always Movie Night, Book Club, and so many types of activities you could line up according to your crowd's interests :D

4. Kick your virtual gathering up a notch by adding a fun theme, and a 'Best Dressed' mini-contest

We ALL know that themed parties are the best kind of parties, so who says the fun has to stop just because we have to physically distance ourselves? Pick a theme that suits the occasion and see what wacky or snazzy outfits your guests come in.

To add to the excitement, you could even host a 'Best Dressed' mini-competition. Nothing spells fun like a little friendly contest :p

5. Set up your very own mini-bar and crack open a cold one

There's nothing better than sipping on some cold, refreshing beer and having a nice chat with your loved ones over a video call. If you're planning on hosting a NYE countdown virtual get-together, a little toast to 2021 is definitely a good idea! All you need to do is set up your very own mini-bar for that added party vibe.
