The Holderness family of Raleigh, N.C., decided to forgo the cliche family holiday card for something much more 2013: a video entitled "Christmas Jammies (#XMAS Jammies)."

Mom and Dad initially came up with the Christmas video idea as they could not get their their two children to sit still for a family photo. However, they did not expect the video to go viral.
The mom said they did it because they couldn’t get their kids to sit still to take a good Christmas card picture.
charlotteobserver.com"So, as I sit here on the couch….wait for it… in my #XMASJammies, I wanted to reflect and share what the last week has been like. Many people have asked us if we expected this to happen. Ummmm, no."
visitthegreenroom.comBut 12 million is a whole other inconceivable notion we’re thrilled to be experiencing, to say the least. Before this viral firestorm took off, we were a little video production company in Raleigh, NC seeking out good projects that require clever creativity, solid production and a digital strategy to amplify the stories.
visitthegreenroom.com"We are so very grateful for all the love friends, family and complete strangers have shown for #XMASJammies. It has a life of its own now. Although, we will continue to coddle this baby for all its worth."
visitthegreenroom.comThe video turns out to be a publicity stunt to promote the family's new video production company. But the video is so good, we dare not disapprove of its shameless plugs.
As you might imagine the whole thing is a publicity stunt. The father is an anchor for WCNN and the mother works in the entertainment industry. This card was created to create media attention and not as something for only friends and family.
