Hong Kong International Airport Got A Makeover & Is Giving Away 500,000 Flight Tickets

The HKIA 'World of Winners' tickets aim to attract tourists across major continents in a bid to boost the city's tourism industry.

Tickets will be given out by the city's four home-based airlines — Cathay Pacific, Greater Bay Airlines, HK Express, and Hong Kong Airlines — in phases and by regions. Starting in March, travellers from Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, will be among the first to enjoy the unprecedented tickets giveaway, woohoo!

You can look forward to new services and facilities as well as expanded retail and F&B offerings. Whether you're looking to do some last-minute duty-free shopping, tuck into a good meal before heading out to the city, or kill time before your flight home, there's plenty to do at HKIA.

There are three zones — the Crystal Elevator, Waterfall Gardens, and Totems of Joy. These zones feature travel, nature, and fun-themed multimedia experiences for you to immerse in and capture precious moments with your loved ones.

Upon arriving at the Meeters and Greeters Hall on Level 5, you'll be greeted by the Crystal Elevator, which boasts a crystal façade that reveals unique digital content about Hong Kong, travel, and cheeky fun.

Just a short walk away on the same floor is the North and South Waterfall Gardens at the Arrivals Hall. It emits soothing sights and sounds of nature — you can interact with the surroundings by touching the cascading waterfall and stepping on the stones in the creek, or relax by crystal-clear ponds with birds flying overhead.

Meanwhile, the Totems of Joy can be found at the boarding gates — a restricted area — so remember to check it out when you're departing from Hong Kong. The boarding gate totems have always been a popular photo-taking spot. HKIA transformed the previous totems into the new Totems of Joy, to make the area much more colourful.

Whether you're in the Arrivals Hall or heading to your boarding gates, the airport offers plenty of choices to fill your tummy. Here's a look at some of the F&B options:

Non-restricted area
- Wolfgang Puck Kitchen: A full-service restaurant and bar concept, the kitchen offers distinctly unique food and beverage with attentive welcoming service, and a warm environment.
- Ho Hung Kee: Founded in 1946, Ho Hung Kee has developed from a street food stall to one of the biggest wonton noodles brands in the city. The brand was awarded one MICHELIN star.
- Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao: A multi-time MICHELIN Bib Gourmand awarded brand, the renowned restaurant offers modern twists on authentic Shanghainese cuisine and provincial favourites.

Restricted Area
- East Hall Food Court: The food court has been revamped to offer 1,200 seats and more extensive dining options, such as MICHELIN-starred brand Duddell's, Sushi & Sake Bar Taka, the exclusive Gordon Ramsay Plane Food To Go, PUTIEN, and many more.
- King Bakery: This bakery provides freshly baked egg tarts daily. It is the only brand certified as a Hong Kong Q-Mark Product for its egg tarts. You can also find other freshly baked goods here, from bread to authentic local snacks.
- Caviar House & Prunier: Considered one of the top luxury food brands in the world, Caviar House & Prunier produces its caviar in Bordeaux, France and its legendary Balik smoked salmon in the Alps in Switzerland.

HKIA's Terminal 1 Luxury Zone now offers a new, elevated shopping experience for travellers and shoppers, after a contemporary makeover with new luxe flooring, ceiling design, lighting, and function walls that display flight information and promotional messages to travellers.

Here, you'll find three new duplex flagship stores — Chanel, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton — all of which boast ceiling-high structures emblazoned with intricate designs and their brand logo.

And if you're looking to bring home some premium souvenirs, there are the renowned Fortnum & Mason for cookies, chocolate, and tea, as well as TWG Tea Boutique for handcrafted tea blends, modern teaware, and delicate tea-infused sweets and savouries.
