Yep, you read that right. You now have up to 365 days to return purchased items for an exchange or a full refund, as long as they are still in their original packaging and you still have the original proof of purchase (receipt).

The new policy comes into effect today, 19 July, and marks IKEA as the first home furnishing retailer to introduce a year-long return policy for customers in Malaysia

If you happen to have bought something before the new policy was announced, don't worry - it applies to your purchase too!

The 365-day period will be calculated from the date of purchase.

Do note that IKEA's return policy does not apply to cut fabric, used bedding, plants, kitchen/electrical appliances, products bought from As-Is section, goods ordered to specifications such as custom-made worktops, products damaged after leaving the store, as well as damaged items resulting from misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, and/or incorrect self-assembly.
