2024 has been a landmark year for Malaysia's arts and entertainment industry, with homegrown talent making waves in music, lifestyle, and fashion
To honour these creative achievements, JUICE Malaysia launched its highly anticipated 'The Best of 2024' campaign, spotlighting standout individuals and works from the past year.
This campaign shines a light not only on mainstream success but also on Malaysia's vibrant underground scene, elevating those who push creative boundaries. Each nominee embodies JUICE Malaysia's mission of supporting alternative voices and celebrating authentic artistry.
Through public voting, fans have the chance to recognise the artistes, designers, and spaces that shaped 2024. Whether through a chart-topping track, a trendy café, or bold fashion, this campaign ensures that the people's voices determine who takes home the top honours.
The Music category celebrates the artistes, albums, and songs that defined the local scene between December 2023 and November 2024
Representing a wide array of genres, this year's nominees include both mainstream hits and alternative anthems.
In the race for Best Song, Gadisku by lucidrari and Gard — a hip-hop and dance track with infectious energy — is up against Sabar Sayang by Quai, Orang Malaya, and Yuna, an R&B ballad exploring themes of loyalty and patience with emotional depth.
For Best Album, the competition is fierce between Teleportasi by indie band Madz and Kalau Begitu, Baiklah… by rap collective SLATAN. Both albums have made an indelible mark, each reflecting the artistes' unique styles and storytelling.
The Lifestyle category recognises venues that have shaped how Malaysians unwind and connect, from buzzing clubs to cosy cafés
In the Best Clubs category, nightlife hotspots Over and Above and Face 3 go head-to-head. Both have become cultural staples, drawing diverse crowds with their dynamic atmospheres and unforgettable experiences.
Meanwhile, the Best Café category celebrates community-driven hangouts like Pucks Coffee, beloved for its welcoming ambience and comfort food, as well as Ini/Itu, which stands out for its artisanal brews and commitment to fostering connections.
The Fashion category honours the designers reshaping Malaysia's style landscape, including streetwear innovators and high-fashion visionaries
Nominees include household names like Kit Woo and ABU, known for pushing creative boundaries, alongside rising stars like Ghostboy.
Having made a bold debut at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW), Ghostboy has quickly captured the public's attention with its daring aesthetic and cultural relevance. Competing alongside streetwear icon Motherchuckers and handbag favourite brïk, the lineup showcases the breadth of talent defining Malaysian fashion.
