Advertising copywriter Celestine Lau founded A Soap Affair in 2015 as a part-time endeavour. Celestine takes pride in making handmade soaps that are not created for artisanal reasons but for the betterment of our skin. She works together with Belinda Hiew, who helps with order fulfilment, to make handmade soaps that are free from chemicals and preservatives.

3. Soap Artisan (Natural Wellbeing)
Angel, who hails from Taiwan, came to Malaysia in 2000 and set up Natural Wellbeing a year later. With many years of soap-making experience, she founded Soap Artisan with Li Li, a consultant, in 2012 to retail Natural Wellbeing products to introduce the goodness of handmade bath and beauty products to Malaysians at affordable prices. All of Soap Artisan's products are environment-friendly and skin-friendly.

4. Claire Organics
CEO Louise Chu started to make create her own all-natural body care products using only natural ingredients only after she realised that that the market was full of products with harsh chemicals which was not safe for baby use. She founded Claire Organics in 2012 as a blogshop, naming her business her daughter Norra Claire. Louise has recently opened her own retail outlet at da:men USJ.

5. IL Puro Natural
Nora Saman, a lawyer by profession, founded iL Puro Natural as result of passion, love and drive to create something good and better for herself and the world around her.
iL Puro means ‘the pure’ in Italian, and Nora prides herself in sourcing the best natural ingredients from all around the world, from Berber women living in Moroccan villages to getting ingredients from housewifes in east coast of Malaysia.

6. The Saponifist
In 2012, Nadya Lee, a graphic designer by trade, founded her own brand of soaps, The Saponifist. She puts her own touch of creativity to her brand's concepts, from the handsome retro lettering packaging to the unusual names. Nadya said she spent nearly RM15,000 in 2 years to research and experiment before she started selling her soaps at bazaar and on her online store.

7. The Kinder Soap Company
Michelle Ho started The Kinder Soaps Company in 2010 after 6 months of research and experimentation in soap-making. She first ventured into soap-making after she discovered that her newborn daughter was developing signs of eczema. Michelle tailors most of her products for people with sensitive skin, using only natural clays and botanical extracts for colourant, and essential oils for fragrance.

8. The Soap Cellar (Global Organics Personal Care)
Based in Penang, Global Organics Personal Care (GOPC) was founded by Daniel Khoo and his partner Candy Chan in 2011. The duo then opened a retail outlet called The Soap Cellar in Penang two years later. Besides selling soaps through their retail and online store, they also supply soaps to hotels, boutique hotels, and small businesses.

Bisou BonBon, which means “kiss" and "candy” in French, was founded by Shelby Kho who is a doctor by profession. Shelby only uses natural ingredients such as manuka honey in her products because she do not use any kind of artificial fragrance, preservatives or colourings.
