Meet Jaishree Ratnakumar, a Malaysian university student who will soon be going all the way to Japan for an internship at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto

Jaishree is a final-year Diploma in Patisserie student from BERJAYA University College, where she pursues her love and passion for the culinary arts.

Despite the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaishree was still able to enjoy a practical education experience, which allowed her to refine her patisserie skills through the use of state-of-the-art equipment, such as specialised labs and fully equipped kitchens.

Throughout her time at BERJAYA University College, Jaishree had various opportunities to not only grow her skills, but also get real-world experience

One course that left a lasting impression on Jaishree was the Artisanal Bread class, where she honed her creativity and bread-making skills. She also got the chance to expand her network by collaborating with renowned chefs and participating in industry events.

Additionally, during her training at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Jaishree showcased her culinary prowess, thriving in the fast-paced environment as she gained valuable hands-on experience through doing everything from preparing delicious food for hotel buffets to handling catering for events.

Through it all, Jaishree's mentor and lecturer, Chef Alex Chia, played a pivotal role in instilling confidence and passion in her culinary journey.

And now, Jaishree is set to mark a new chapter in her culinary career by embarking on an internship at Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto
