With the rising issues of crime, cost of living and poor education system, Malaysian parents still believe that this country is a good place for their children's upbringing.
Most Malaysian parents still think Malaysia is a good place to raise children
According to a survey of parents in five Asian countries conducted by global market research company Ipsos, Malaysian parents polled first with 75% of fathers and 76% of mothers agreeing to bring up their children in the country.
yahoo.comParents from other countries were more pessimistic, with South Korean parents the least hopeful about having their children grow up in their native land – only 21% of fathers and 13% of mothers agreed that South Korea is a good place for children to grow up.

Malaysian parents also topped another category with 86% of them believing that excelling in academics would lead to a prosperous career.
“In terms of believing that studying well will lead to success in adult life – Malaysians are the most bullish with an overall 86% of parents agreeing,” Ipsos said in a statement today.

The survey also asked if parents would allow their children to inherit their socio-economic status – 45% of Malaysian parents agreed. The figure is lower than Singapore’s 53%, South Korea’s 66% and China’s 64%.

However, Malaysian parents are less receptive to the idea of allowing their children to live on their own before marriage with only 32% willing to let their offspring reside in a separate home.
Mainland Chinese parents, meanwhile, polled the highest numbers in this category with 65% most likely to say yes to living apart. Hong Kong parents (18%) were the least willing to let their children.
7% of Malaysian parents are willing to consider plastic surgery for their children
Malaysian parents are the least likely to allow their children to have plastic surgery with only 7% willing to consider the idea. South Korea, unsurprisingly, topped the list with 42% agreeing to the idea.
