As Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day approach, Perodua has released an ad that goes beyond the usual festive celebrations

It taps into the everyday spirit of Malaysia, shining a light on the moments and people that truly define who we are as a nation.

Inspired by the viral "make it more" trend on social media, Perodua takes it one step further with a special project that poses this question: "What makes something truly 'Malaysian'?"

Throughout the ad, you'll find oh-so-familiar scenes, like two individuals sharing their thoughts on the most Malaysian thing of all... Food!

Person 1: "Nasi kandar tak ada kuah banjir? Tak jadilah."

Person 2: "Betul, betul, betul!"

Person 1: "Char kuey teow, nasi lemak dan roti canai mana?"

From our incredible teh tarik pouring skills to our awe-inspiring sportspeople, the ad beautifully captures moments that make us proud Malaysians

And yes, no Malaysian story is complete without Oyen, our internet-famous ginger cat, popping up in the most random (and adorable) places.

Whether it's our abang baju Melayu or graceful Sumazau dancers, the ad continues to sprinkle iconic, uniquely Malaysian touches.

Naturally, no Merdeka ad would be complete without a shoutout to our homegrown pride – national car brands like Perodua

Whether it's a Myvi cruising down city streets or a Bezza driving through kampung roads, Perodua cars are part of our daily lives. They're a symbol of how we get through our everyday hustle, built by Malaysians, for Malaysians.

Now, that's a Malaysian ad!

The ad wraps up with the message "INILAH #MALAYSIAKU" to celebrate the iconic and everyday moments that make Malaysia unique. It shows how our differences blend to create something greater, paying tribute to the everyday Malaysian spirit.
