Although the recommended amount of sleep for an adult is 7 to 8 hours a day, an AIA landmark survey has shown that Malaysian adults only get 6.3 hours of sleep on average

Carried out by the researchers at the University of Arizona, a study showed that lack of sleep may increase the risk of obesity and diabetes, because of intensified cravings for junk food and nighttime snacks.

According to a survey by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, many respondents reported poorer workplace performance due to tiredness, with over half struggling to stay focused in meetings, taking longer to complete tasks, and finding it challenging to generate new ideas. Along with a lack of focus and less creative capacities, participants also indicated a reduced motivation to learn and were less able to manage competing demand.
