But they are, in fact, fluffy Swiss rolls. Yeps, they're edible =)

These drool-worthy works of art are the brainchild of Singapore-based online bakery Batikrolls by Nura

Inspired by her mum's passion for baking, founder Nura took her passion to another level by incorporating an artsy element to her mum's classic Swiss roll recipe. The move proved to be a hit, evidenced by Batikrolls' growing following for their chic, Insta-worthy batik cakes.

The pretty cakes start off with meticulous piping of buttercream in various colours onto a sheet of baking paper. The sheet is then popped into the oven for a quick bake.

After that, cake batter is poured onto the batik sheet and it goes back in the oven for a second baking. Once done, the sheet is peeled away to reveal the cake's unique design.
