You might be wondering "What is a Carolina Reaper?" Well it's definitely not local to Malaysians. For comparison, the Carolina Reaper has an average heat rating of over 1.5 million Scoville units whereas our chili padi measures around 50,000 - 100,000 Scoville units.

The Carolina Reaper was artificially created by Ed Currie

It is a crossbreed between La Soufriere pepper from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent and a Naga pepper from Pakistan.

So a few of our brave colleagues volunteered to challenge themselves to eat the world's hottest pepper
