With the ongoing lockdown, many local arts and entertainment have been forced to adapt to these changing times in order to survive

Among those heavily affected is Crackhouse Comedy Club KL in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, which has held nightly shows since 2014 featuring local and international comics, such as Douglas Lim, Paul Ogata, Gina Yashere, and Joanne Kam, among others.

Like many during this Movement Control Order, the club has been solely depending on food takeaways and deliveries.

To stay afloat, co-founder Rizal Van Geyzel spent three months in the kitchen to come up with a brand new pizza menu that reflects the club's spirit while sticking true to Malaysian roots.

The new menu includes crowd favourites, such as the 'Ayam what I am' chicken and pesto pizza, 'Sambal, yet effective' locally-inspired beef pizza, along with 'Mary also had a big one', a slow-roasted lamb leg pizza with mozzarella and fresh mint

All of their 12" pizzas are made in-house with a sugarless dough base and topped with fresh ingredients that they prepare from scratch.

Among that are other yummies like their western/local style chicken wings, 'Sarong party chicks', and 'The Underground cookie', meant as a cheeky British-inspired pastiche to the Subway cookie, but made more delicious with the addition of burnt butter.

Each order comes with a QR code containing a one-min comedy clip provided by past international headliners, showing solidarity with the club as well as providing much-needed laughter during this lockdown

Some of the clips are provided by Imran Yusuf (UK), Paul Ogata (US), Lars Callieou (CA), Jason Leong (MY), Kavin Jay (MY), and Rizal van Geyzel (MY) who's also a stand-up comedian himself, among others.

Aside from that, they've been helping to supply 40 to 50 pizzas every week to orphanages, senior citizen homes, as well as single-parent and white flag homes.

You can support them during this time by placing an order on all the usual delivery apps (GrabFood, foodpanda, airasia food, and Beep delivery). However, the club highly urges you to contact them directly to allow them to keep 100% of their profit margins, as they need them now more than ever.

Order here. If you want to help further, you can reach out to Rizal at +6017-2056870.
