The 2022 mooncake series by Mandarin Oriental feature two gift boxes encompassing four or six pieces of mooncake.

The box of four is a bamboo gift box (RM138) with the following flavours:
1. Lotus paste with single egg yolk
2. Pandan paste with single egg yolk
3. Red bean paste and almond flakes
4. Low sugar white lotus paste

The box of six comes in a premium bamboo box (RM228 – RM408) with a choice of 15 flavours, including snow skin Musang King durian, Baked White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk, Malaysian Milk Chocolate Jasmine Sesame Ganache, among others.

3. Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Pavilion KL's Moonlight Garden Mooncake Collection encases four traditionally baked mooncakes in an artfully-crafted container, which doubles as a rechargeable lantern.

The exterior of the lantern is layered with paper cut-out scenes of a moonlit garden, over a translucent sheet that illuminates from a battery-operated bulb within. A little decorative addition as a gift!

Enjoy classic flavours of Lotus, White Lotus and Red Bean, as well as Pandan, Yam, and Sweet Corn. Each set costs RM268.

4. InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

In collaboration with +sukha, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur's mooncake sets this Mid-Autumn's Festival feature three gift boxes: Luxe Mooncake Gift Box (RM258), Premium Mooncake Gift Box (RM218), and Classic Mooncake Gift Box (RM158).

Each box comes with four mooncakes. Depending on which box you purchase, there's a mix of traditional baked and snow skin mooncake flavours to select from.

7. Licky Chan & The Poke Guy

Licky Chan & The Poke Guy is a local ice cream and tattoo parlour offering a pretty ice cream mooncake this year! The pastel-coloured snow skin beauty is made with tonka bean ice cream, cacao nibs, and durian cream filling. *drools*

8. Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur

Encased in a luxurious jewellery box, Lady Yi's Tea House at Four Points by Sheraton offers four traditional baked mooncake flavours this Mid-Autumn Festival.

Inspired by 'Abundance', a painting by local artist Lisa Wong which pays homage to the generosity in the Chinese culture, is incorporated onto the design of the box. Each mooncake set costs RM158+.

9. Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur reunites with award-winning Malaysian fashion designer, Melinda Looi, for another year of collaborative Mid-Autumn journey featuring 'The House of Shí Wǔ 十五之家' (The House of Fifteen). Each box comes with four mooncakes.

Presenting itself as an avant-garde Mid-Autumn advent calendar that celebrates the classic heritage of Peranakan culture in Malaysia, the miniature wooden house also moonlights as a multipurpose box and décor, with an intricate exterior that showcases the timeless motifs of iconic Peranakan homes.

This year, Banyan Tree's mooncake collection comes in an iridescent, round gift box designed with the Kuala Lumpur city landscape. Inside the box is a range of six chocolate, as well as traditional mooncakes, and tea sachets.

The chocolate mooncakes come with three types of filling: Green Tea Red Bean, Coffee Caramel Walnut, and the classic Lotus Paste.

Sheraton Petaling Jaya's mooncake sets come in beautifully crafted boxes that can be reused as a jewellery or key box. They make great gifts!

There are three types of packaging available: Peony Jade, Lilac Blossom, and Premium Turquoise, each one priced between RM126 and RM298.

Available for takeaway or delivery, The St. Regis KL has taken inspiration for their mooncake sets this year from 'the sport of kings' — polo. In the early 20th century, both polo and The St. Regis New York became part of New York's summer social scene, where the Astors were a prominent fixture.

Each trunk is wrapped in orange leatherette with features of fine stitching and is studded with brushed metal hardware to represent a polo player's saddle.
