Have you tried soufflé pancakes?
Soufflé pancakes are a lighter, airier version of traditional pancakes, and they're taller too. Like the name indicates, soufflé pancakes are made using a similar technique you would use to make soufflé, where its ‘poofy’ height is achieved by stiffly beating egg whites until it peaks.
The Japanese call the fluffy texture of soufflé pancakes 'fuwa fuwa' and they are often served at wedding receptions in Japan
There are a few cafes in the Klang Valley that serve these tasty, light pancakes. Find them here:
1. Souffle Dessert Cafe @ Puchong Jaya
Souffle Dessert Cafe in Puchong has light and fluffy soufflé pancakes. Don't forget to drizzle them in syrup before you dig in.
2. Moge Tee @ SS2 | SS15
You've probably seen Moge Tee's soufflé all over social media as they're topped with brown sugar boba. The chewy boba goes really well with the soft pancakes.
3. Sofflé @ Sunway Pyramid
Sofflé is the newest kid on the block, and is located in Sunway Pyramid. Their soufflé pancakes are served in pairs, and drenched in sweet sauces such as Belgian chocolate, matcha, and even topped with boba.
4. Soylab @ Damansara Utama
Soylab specialised in everything soy. Their soufflé pancakes make a great dairy-free option.
5. Hotcake @ Sri Petaling
Hotcake is originally from Johor, and has recently opened an outlet in Klang Valley. They stack up their soufflés and top them with various toppings like red bean, banana, and chocolate.
6. Neighbour's Coffee Bar @ Jalan Senang Ria
Here’s another pretty spot for you to enjoy your soufflé pancakes! We love the natural light that floods this popular cafe that Happy Garden locals frequent. Have your pancakes with sesame ice cream, fruits, or vanilla ice cream.
7. Hoshino Coffee @ The Boulevard Mid Valley City
Hoshino Coffee has more than 180 outlets in the land of the rising sun, so you know the soufflé pancakes here will be legit. Their popular pot-baked soufflé is worth a try too!
