[NEW UPDATE] KL is 6th Most Dangerous City? Rubbish, Says Datuk Ayub
We all know that Malaysia isn't exactly the safest city to live in, but saying that it is one of the most dangerous cities in the world is a little far-fetched... no? A viral list on the '10 Most Dangerous Cities In The World' list Malaysia as number 6. And being the patriotic Malaysians that we are, we decide to find out how credible is this list.
Police say the crime rate has dropped, this list is rubbish
Federal National Key Results Area (NKRA) secretariat chairman Comm Datuk Ayub Yaakob rubbished the posting and pointed out that the recent Government Transformation Programme (GTP) report says that crime has dropped by about 27% between 2009 and 2012.
thestar.com.myComm Ayub said the police have always been transparent in revealing the country's crime rate as it is part of the NKRA.
He urged the public to channel their opinions or questions to the police's official website (www.rmp.gov.my).
“In order to get higher hits, many authors write controversial articles to attract readers. If the author wrote that Syria is currently the most dangerous place, everyone already knows that and nobody will read the article," says Facebook user Luqman Ibrahim.
thestar.com.my"But if he mentions Kuala Lumpur or New Orleans (10th on the list), people will be surprised and read the article. That's why you shouldn't take such articles seriously," he said.
