A Tahfiz Teacher Allegedly Threatened To Cut Off A Boy's Private Part And Set It On Fire
Two teachers at a tahfiz school in Kuantan were arrested on 1 September after one of them allegedly threatened to cut off a boy's private part and set it on fire
Both teachers were also filmed caning the boy for allegedly stealing his friend's food.
Astro Awani reported yesterday, 2 September, that police arrested the 43-year-old and 42-year-old suspects at Kampung Selamat, Kuantan, after a report was lodged by the eight-year-old boy's father.
The boy's father had recently transferred him to the tahfiz school after noticing his lack of interest in studies.
The victim's father lodged a police report after hearing explanations of the teachers' actions on his son
theSun reported Kuantan district police chief ACP Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali as saying that the 25-year-old father only found out about the incident after a video of it went viral on WhatsApp.
"The boy's father was contacted by the suspects who claimed that the victim had urinated while standing, stole his friend's food, and did not flush the toilet after using it," Mohd Noor said.
Angered by the teachers' actions, Mohd Noor said the father then lodged a police report against them.
A rattan and a pair of pruning scissors were also seized following the arrest of the teachers.
The boy was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital for examination after he complained of back pain
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
If convicted, the suspects face up to a maximum of 10 years in jail, a fine not more than RM20,000, or both.
