3 Terengganu Kids Were Left At Home Without Food After Their Mother Went To KL With Her BF
Police are looking for the children's 32-year-old single mother.
Three children were rescued from their home in Kuala Berang, Terengganu yesterday, 3 July
Harian Metro reported that the rescue was made after the local Social Welfare Department (JKM) received a call regarding the living condition of the children at around 10am yesterday.
They are aged between six and 12.
The children had been left at home without food and care for three days prior to the rescue
According to Sin Chew Daily, they were left alone by their 32-year-old mother, who had travelled to Kuala Lumpur with her boyfriend.
The 12-year-old boy is currently attending school, while both his younger sisters are not. Moreover, his attendance in school is also unsatisfactory.
Nonetheless, the children were not found with any signs of physical abuse.
Investigations revealed that the 32-year-old mother is unemployed
According to Harian Metro, Hulu Terengganu police chief Deputy Superintendent Adli Mat Daud said that the woman also often changes her partner.
"She had previously left her children alone for more than three days... She will also go on a rampage if any of the villagers give food or money to her kids," Adli added.
The kids are currently placed under the care of a children's home
According to Adli, the children will remain in Rumah Perlindungan Taman Sinar Harapan for a month.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
